Guess it's time...

After much deliberation and months of pondering I'm posting my first and only love in hopes to upgrade.

Not in a hurry to sell just seeing if any interested buyers. 1980 Honda XL250 S dual sport, the bike has about 4xxx miles. I've owned it for 3 years. Perfect starter bike for the right person, off road or great commuter. 8 dollars will fill the tank and usually lasts me two weeks. The bike is a beast but I'm looking to upgrade to a 650. Its not a show room quality bike, it shows its age but it can take care of business. Starts first or second kick.
New:
- tabs good til April of 2014
- dual sport rear tire (less than 600 miles)
- front brake cable
- rear brake shoes
- new engine gaskets and protective paint on air fins last fall
- valves tuned last fall
- new oil and filter
- throttle cable with sleeve(installing the next few days)
- hand grips
- rear turn signals
- battery from last spring (its only used for the headlights and signals bike will run without it)
- seat cover with Honda text on rear

... Asking $1100 or make me an offer.

It was easier to fix the original post and then quote it than start all over from scratch. Plus I had a whole new set of items at the same time. I figured it was ok since it had been almost 6 weeks since the original.

Is this the same bike as the "Frankenstein" bike here http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=882873

WANTED, older Rokon

Howdy All,

Whilst riding with some new found friends in Texas, I was introduced to the Rokon, now I want one. So if you have one of these critters that is collecting dust give me a holler and lets see if we can work something out. Thanks.

Hiya mr cob,

right where old hwy 99 goes under I-5 at the very south end of Roseburg is a fellow who had 2 of them last year. He trots out various bikes and cars and odd items for display in his front yard area,,on the south side of the road.
I have not been by that way to see what he has out there this year,,but next time I pass that way, I'll stop and ask about the Rokons and see if I can get you a phone number.
They still sell them new,,y'know!
peace. ptrmn

Rokon's

Ahh the Rokon, one of the few bikes to conquor the Darien Gap. Seems like a true "Off/No Road" vehicle. Love that you can store fuel and water in the tires and still "Float" it across rivers.

Bought these last year. Used a few times on dual sport rides not single track rides. Still in excellent shape, there is a small tear in the leather near the toe, wont leak, I hit a deer at 50+ and skidded across the gravel pretty good in them.

400 at revzilla.. 150 for local pickup between mount vernon and Redmond. Will not ship.
