When I bought mine, I was told the translucent/clear was the least favorite

Proabably becasue gasoline is light sensitive and quickly (Hours) deteriorates when exposed to sunlight.. It often causes the Octane additives to settle out.. Race fuel is the most sensitive but I've seen pump 92 octane do it as well.

Good Luck

Dave

Good point on the degradation and one of the reasons I ordered the black. Since the bike is torn apart I guess it's a good time to go ahead and order the CPR air filter for her while I'm waiting.

Gas rarely stays in mine that long and right now more is on the road than in the tank. Fixing a leak at the carb now.

Is this direct from Australia, or is there a stocking dealer in North America?

That's drop shipped from the land down under and I got the same response from both Dualsportwarehouse and Justgastanks.

I got mine at http://justgastanks.com/product_info...roducts_id=483
They have advrider discount code in their thread in the vendor's forum.
Call them for color availability. When I bought mine a few months ago they had orange, white, black and I got the last set of translucent.

Yup, but now all that's available is orange or white. I've already paid for my black and just think, only 4 more weeks to go!

Nice idea but very poor production.

Modified SW crash bars and powder coated orange

I modified my sw crash bars by piecing in about a one inch piece near the rear mount and adding a new mounting tab at the front side mount. Also had to bend the inside bars to fit. Instead of lining up the inside mounts with the weak aluminum threaded holes I am just going to make a bar to tie the two inside mounts together. It not perfect but looks very nice with the new orange powder coating.
BTW the tanks do like to grow. Having trouble getting the mounting bolt in on the left front headlight mount. It's a half hole off.

I've won some BNIB safari tanks on eBay.
Could someone please tell me what fittings should aslo come with the tanks?
I know there are some breather pipes, but what else??
Thanks.

Longer bolts, fuel pump opening block off plate (to use for a 950) and a gasket.
A couple of orings for the petcocks.
