Hey Henry,

When do you come back from OBX? It was fun riding with you and Adam the other weekend. We'll have to do it again sometime.

I'm back but too tired to rough it in the woods this weekend. Maybe next weekend if the weather allows? I haven't seen most of the Swanzey trails since last year - it would be interesting to see what the winter did to the surface.

Henry,

Long ride back??. Living in Richmond, I could be in Nags Head in 3hrs.

A friend from W.Ma and I did a ride up to Keene, yesterday. We had lunch at Local Burger and then headed S on 10 towards Pisguh and Rt on Elm St and to the park. The gate was closed and won't be open till 5/23.

We headed N. on 10 and took a Rt. to Swanzea 32S and 119E for me to Concord. Can't wait to learn more about the area.

I was on my KRS and my friend rides a F800GS.

Yes, about 12.5 hrs straight shot. Not bad though as I drove through the night. Still, the traffic though NYC was crazy at 4:30 am.

Just don't pay any attention to this guy - he's got marshmallow fixation.

Okay, I got the green light for Sunday morning. No marshmallows, but there is some dirt to ride. the state stuff is closed through 5/23 so I suggest class VI town roads, some powerlines, and whatnot. How about 9:00-ish in the morning. Rain or shine...

Meet in Fitzwilliam, NH at a gas station off 12 and 119, Mr. Mikes?

Two possible routes - Gap Mnt Rd to some class VI to Rindge, then back via different route to 119 in Fitzwilliam, AND / OR from Fitzwilliam via some paved/unpaved to powerlines in Richmond, then woods to Troy, more woods to Swanzey (about 50-60 mile loop total, 3-4 hrs) ??

I'm in.

I'd do either but the second option sounds better IMHO. let me see if I can con my buddy Greg in to this one.... he hasn't joined us yet and I'm starting to wonder if his bike is for looks... he's a lurker here, but let me give him the word I'm busting his ass on a public forum in an attempt to get him to be persuaded and see what happens

Smoke cloud was meant to be used as a screen to escape the wild bigfoots that roam the woods out here! Of course its button was hit by accident when showing you how to ride in a sand pit!

Cool2 KTM 950 Adventure in Morocco

I didn't get a good shot, but this dude was on an adventure with his Adventure in Morocco...as seen from the minibus. I had to scramble to get out the camera.

I tried to get a shot of him on the road. I heard the bike go past the bus.

Up the road further, he had stopped to take a break under a tree...

Awesome day today! Finally got a chance to do more than just run errands .

Did a nice loop over Putney Mtn Road and across the West River and up to Townshend Dam. Then on up to Jamaica, then past Stratton, over to Bromley and then down towards Magic but jumped off on 121 and came back through Grafton and Saxtons River.

Not a bad afternoon despite having to detour because of a bridge out and then that peculiarly New England practice of fixing muddy stretches of road by dumping a Metric Butt Ton of crushed stone on the road . Thoughts going through my head as I rolled into a nice little off-camber left hander..."OK, off camber here, roll out of the throttle, oh sh-t, there's mess of gravel on the road , Crap, trees (as the bike starts to drift towards the shoulder)! Cool, I'm gonna miss the trees, Oh crap, the river!"

Fortunately I was able to keep the wheels pointing in the right direction and came out the other side with only a an exercised sphincter muscle to show for it . But it was such a beautiful day, that even that, couldn't take the off my face.

Glad you got through that turn, Bill!

BTW, the pucker marks on the seat will disappear after a few hours in the sun.
