Hey VolInGA

Got it from Jason at ADVmotorrad. Real nice guy, asked him a bunch of questions, he was on top of everything and shipped it in no time. Great experience all around. My main question was about fitting my helmet and he was very helpful. They have a 29L, a 38L which is the one I got and a 45L which was too big for what I was looking for ... Great purchase !

Well, I tried to remove the shocks to send to Ohlins to make them Adventure height. Couldn't remove the rear shock because the bolt broke inside the mount. THREAD

Yep, holds an Arai XD4 as my largest helmet.

Lots of storage still left in that box, you just need to put it in the helmet.

Had the local upholsterer modify my GSA seat by filling in much of the trough that I kept sliding forward down into. There was enough cover folded under to use the stock cover. Looking from the rear he also flattened off the crown making it flat. Huge improvement for $140 and it still matches up with the rear seat.

Today i added some rox risers, a kruz locker, and beadrider

All went simple except for the risers. I had to re route the throttle cable under the handlebar and the left handle cables under the fork bridge. The biggest pain was finding new bolts for the handlebars to the fork bridge. The way i have my risers the etorx are not accessable. I could not find the right length metric bolts so got the next length up and used washers for spacers. Ended up getting m10 x 100 and m8 x 40. All torqued properly of course.

You could have use an 8mm closed end wrench on the E-torx. I installed a set yesterday that way.

Tried it and worked, but I wanted to make sure I had it torqued properly and could not do that with a wrench... In the end the bolts and washers still worked.

I re machined my new Touratech skid plate to allow ventalation by the catalytic converter. Then off to the plater for some TypeIII gold hard coat anodizing.

I really had the best intentions. But, while it's apart I'm going to install one of these critters. PDM 60 from Rowe Electronics.

Because I have wires. Lots of wires. Stuck waiting on a part for my radio so I have this to enjoy... Kind of looks like the FSM.

Dang, a copper thief would be salivating.

I have the stock BMW top case and my large Arai XD fits just fine.

Hey Gearhead .... I'd love to see your gas tank stainless 'cheek panels' anodized to match your skid plate ...

go on man - do it for the team!

Hey now... Gold panels sound like a cool mod
The only reason I used the Gold for the skid plate was to have a hard coat to help out the day to day wear and tear of the soft 5052 aluminum that they used and to kinda color match the fork tubes. Even though my bike is as turd brown as my riding buddies bikes at the end of the day, I get enough crap as it is for keeping my GQ clean day to day.

Fuel strip fix

Fixed my buddies 07 GSA fuel strip with a tip in the ADV thread using a dismembered barbecue lighter. Washed my GS to get off the latest spring bug hatch!
