lot's of discussion here about those and the 990 rim. the 950 super-E has a narrower rim. the 990 Adventure has a wider 4.5 in rim. the debate is whether or not a 140 tire should/can be used on the bigger rim. many people have done and do it, and have not had problems. with the lack of good options for a rear tire i completely understand. what has given me pause for thought is the response from the owner/manufacturer of the tire that says they WOULD NOT run them on the 990 rim. the sidewalls would be compromised by stretching it that wide. do some searching, plenty to read on the subject then you can make your descision.

another option is the mitas, you have to buy in canada but they will ship to the usa.

laters,

laramie

My dirt rim is the 2004 4". I've run plenty of 140 and even some bigger 120's. Maybe I"ll give one a try when my current 908 is done.

The Manufacturer says no for the these on the 950 (and its Mot-Oz btw Mot for Motobike, Oz for Australia). Remember they are only M rates (130kph, 81mph).

All that said I have used one in the past on the 4" rim and it worked quite well.

We ran the Tractionators in Baja on our Cabo trip (990s). I had a replacement shipped down and changed the rear tire in Cabo. Once worn in a little, they are great on the dirt and highway. Put in some ear plugs though...

I will say that we had a large number of pinch flats down in Baja. Those could have been caused by low air pressure, the weight of the bikes, or the fact that Baja is made of rocks mostly buried in the sand...or a combination of all that.

I've got a 140/18 Tractionator Desert HT on the rear of my super enduro, I like it better than the 908 off road. On the street, it's noisy as hell.
