That would make MC the man, he rode real motorcycles not sissy diesels for all of those #1's.

Quote from RV's parents?

Can anyone confirm this quote from RV's parents?...

"Ryan better succeed in MX/SX, cuz he can't do anything else..."

Somewhere I heard this quote attributed to RV's parents...anyone hear that?

Just wondering...seemed kinda surprising to me.

That was a quote from his sister on the Poto Story show.
Ryan and his brother supposedly did poorly in school, and it was from a number of years ago.

It seemed like a pretty boring season to me especially considering the hype of such a stacked field. Not many battles for the lead. At least there were no major injuries from the top riders.

You need to watch closer,it was one of the best seasons ever,250's slashed and crashed and bashed regularly, desperate times for some of them.

Villapoto didnt start his runaway wins till more then halfway through,Milsaps put on a great show,Stewart did his thing one way or the other,Dungey always chasing after endless bad starts, there's more to racing then racing for the lead.

Its not scripted, its racing and what happens, happens.

I thought that is was a GREAT season-I'm a Dungey guy and he never really found his rhythm, but with Millsaps doing so well for a "privateer" is wonderful!
I think Davi needs some FULL factory support

Agreed on the Davi thing,he rode his heart out and deserves the best.

I think Dungey and Decoster were doing development work all through the season and the KTM can only get better,Dungey is still healthy at this point and will rail in the outdoors.
The few times Dungey has caught RV and pushed, Villapoto kinda comes undone,in past years and maybe once this year.
RV is just used to getting the lead and checking out.

Hah! MX Action would tend to agree with you, they are always going on about how the 4 strokes have lowered attendance at many levels of racing, simply too much money to build and maintain a winning or just worn out 4 stroke. Like Honda says in their CR250F owners manual..
20 hours remove and inspect top end.

Sure the 4 strokes haul ass, they are about twice the size of the 2 strokes allowed to race with them and many years newer on development in most cases. In Superbike racing when the twins were trouncing the 4 cylinders or visa versa they did everything possible to keep both racing and competitive.
2 strokes were booted out the door with out a chance.

Haha. The 2T\4T debate is a joke. Tomac, who is incredibly fit has chosen to NOT race 450 outdoors this year, because he feels is is NOT fit enough to race them for 2 full motos. Yup, them "sissy diesels" sure are a breeze to race.

In other real news.... For the Twitter fans:

Racer X ‏@racerxonline 1h
Word is out, Davi Millsaps is going to have to get knee surgery and is out for Nationals, Ryan Sipes will take his 450 outdoors

Millsaps has had factory support many times and squandered it away.

One SX season doesn't prove to me he deserves another chance.

What?! My '03 CRF450R manual said new piston every 15 hrs!? I went more like 20 times that and the cylinder looked fine both times. It was the best bike I ever owned!

Theres no doubt the 450's make a ton of power and are hard to hang onto for a whole moto at full chat.
Nobody said they were a breeze to race, they're heavy and feel heavier then they are. If that's a positive thing then so be it.

Lots of people think its fun to have a light flickable racebike that feels even lighter then it is,fun to pitch em around and hold em wide open instead of perpetually torquing around like a belching tractor.
If someone ever builds a modern 450 2 stroke that's light and runs smooth and fast,it wouldnt lack for buyers.

Guys are building project race bikes sticking 500 or 250 2 strokes in modern frames, just for fun,but some neat bikes considering they are using dinosaur engines.

Cylinder might look good, those darn valves attached to the head seem to go south pretty quick on a hard raced 250 or 450.

Mine went 8 years, did it along with the second piston. And I raced Supermoto to a #1 plate, so not like I was putting along. I just didn't bang off the rev limiter all the time like I was on a 2 stroke. And I ran leaded gas.
