What can you fit in a 26l case?

I just purchased the Seahorse 720 topcase and mount from Caribou Cases for my KLR. It should be here in a day or so. I mainly need a nice, durable case for my commute, but I'd like to be able to take some overnight and weekend trips with just my topcase for luggage. So, what can some of you cram into a 26l case?

So... Guess I have trouble reading.
Sorry for the interruption, and now back to your regularly scheduled program.

I have summer camped for a week our of a pair of 720's. If you pack relatively light you will be okay. I like the 720's, but for longer trips I put on a pair of im2600's. One guy told me he travels two-up with a pair. I don't see it, but to each his own. They are good a size for the KLR.

A Seahorse 720 is basically a Pelican 1550 clone.

I've only gone on a few overnight camping trips since installing my SE720s. I keep a first aid kit, air compressor, tools, ratchet/bungee straps, and a packsafe in one of my cases all the time. In the other case, I keep my raingear. When camping, I can fit my tent (1 person Eureka Backcountry), sleeping pad (Exped Synmat 7.5), and summer-weight sleeping bag in one pannier (with space to stuff a few small things in). I then keep my clothes, a pair of camp shoes, and a few other odds and ends in the other pannier. This is on top of the stuff I had mentioned that I always carry. This leaves my 45 L topbox for my cooking stuff, electronics, and other stuff that I'm not thinking of at the moment. Like I said, I've only used this for overnight camping trips, but I honestly don't pack much differently when I'm camping overnight as opposed to a week or more. Mainly just more socks. If I had to, I could probably pack everything I needed in just the two topcases, maybe needing to strap the sleeping bag to the pillion, but it's nice having the extra room in my top case. Especially if I need to pick up some food or a six pack or something for the campfire...

probably 20 L.

I presume this is for a trip.

you need some space to shuffle thing around without dropping stuff in the sand, or mud, or high grass, or... etc.

And you never pack as tight once on(off!) the road.

20-25L, Im going to eyeball it to 2/3 my 37L, that means the rope and pulleys, the tools and towel, tire kit and pump, chain lube, then very few spare clothes (might not be welcomed in all restaurant if covered with mud...). Free space for some food & water.

I assume the rain suit, and the jacket and pants liners when you will remove them on a hot day can just be in a ball strapped on backseat.
