Everyone should head for the campground Friday night. We'll be leaving from there in the morning, and it makes the whole thing smoother.

A Tasty "Mid Bike" Loop with Tech Sections

There's been requests in the past for some more class 6 roads and tech sections for bigger bikes. After yesterday's ride, I stuck this 116 mile loop together for those who don't want to ride long distances, but want to get sweaty and grunt a bit on larger machines. It's not recommended for much bigger than 650cc unless you ride like Stagehand.

It looks as if Big E may return again to lead the hard-core adrenaline junkies this spring on the small bikes, but he won't bother to post tracks. He keeps his routes in his head, and the hell with those who can't keep up.

The following is a loop that is meaty for me on the DRZ400, and a real grunt fest on the KLR650. It's not at all designed for street-biased bikes or tires. It can be knocked off in four to six hours. If you wish to make a full day of it, the track goes past Radar Road, the route up to the abandoned East Mountain DEW radar base. I won't post tracks for the radar base, but if you look for Radar Road from Gallup Mills, the route is obvious, although not strictly legal at this juncture.

Someone stole the Radar Road sign. Look for the one indicating Victory Town Clerk.

Two thumbs up for the Mayfly. I used one this past weekend at the CnR and it was great!

Yes, I was riding that slow in the rough. I popped my knee a few days before, and it hurt like hell in the bumps.

Nice job on the editing. Am I really that slow?

I blame the editing. You were doing pretty well considering your condition.

Enjoyed the vid Atlas and pics Tom from the first scouting run.

I'm looking forward to the scouting run next weekend, but gotta laugh with all the great weather of late and then rain in the forecast for then... Hopefully it will change, otherwise I'll go the next round or on the date of the ride.

Whoops... didn't know about plans. No biggie; go for it. I'll opt out and show up for the main ride.

If the weather looks super-sucko, there's a couple of places we can stay warm and dry for cheap or free. I gotta run this one. I'm waaaaay behind on the pre-runs because of the delayed thaw.

Well if it ends up being a solo run for ya, then I'll be there whatever the weather. Also, I can do weekdays if that is good for you...? The WRX to R is on a timeline with other projects to be ready Friday arvo, but I can move that up a day or two for this week or we can go the following weekdays if that helps at all.
