990 "power cable" - myth or real???

Has anyone heard of this? I just saw it in the vendor section and I'm curious about how it "smooths" throttle, etc...

Thanks in advance.

This has come up before and also on KTMtalk. No one ever follows up with any real testing information. He offered to give me one to try for free. But changed his mind and wanted me to pay. I became suspicious and forgot about it.

I have read comments that TuneECU is the way to go.

I didn't want to pass judgement having no personal experience but in any of my searches, I didn't see any evidence of real experience or data to support claims. For me, I'm looking at either TuneECU or PC-V.

That looks like a thermocouple for the air temp sensor with a different voltage. It just fools the cpu to think the air is colder than actual. So, the cpu makes the mix richer and maybe, just maybe, that's better.

But, if the O2 sensors are still turned on, it will defeat it somewhat.

There's a big discussion on the TuneECU thread on making your own new thermocouple.

Or, you can get a cable and use TuneECU to adjust the table for air temp offset to do the same thing, and maybe that's better. But, I doubt it.
