This area is definitely motorized, note gnarly 6 wheeler pictured above! I first found it during a work trip and we got locked behind the gate in a car. We had to call Skagit co sheriff, who happily let us out without one word about not supposed to be there!? He said it happens a couple times a month and sorry it took so long!? There used to be a campground right by the bridge over the little river.

Thanks for the info. Awesome that it's so close to me. I'll have to check it out ASAP. Now I need to get me a good GPS unit to make things easier on the fly.

If its not marked, screw it. There wouldn't be any riding if guys always obeyed the 'sign'. If the horses don't like it they really won't like my loud motorcycle. I would ride that in a minute, horses or not. I ride where i feel like and if you don't like it catch me if you can. Really sick of the no riding bullshit.

This brings up something I've wanted to ask your experienced ADVers/wanted to make a new thread but these seems a good time to ask:

If/when you come across a place that has no trespassing signs, do you generally follow them? What's the rule of thumb for this, does it depend on location??

In my little riding experience I've come across a few places with signs but with nothing but woods pr open area around. I turned around because I get a feeling Sasquatch is watching me or some angry land owner with a rifle...

You have to follow your own instincts. I respect private property and No Trespassing Signs. Ultimately you are the one responsible for ignoring
clearly marked areas.

You dill weeds don't get it. I could care less if you ride around gates and ignore signs(wether you saw the signs or not the area is posted as closed to motor vehicles) I just would not post pics of it on the internet.

I guess we know what you would or wouldn't do.
Dill is a spice with a sharp taste. Any derogatory meaning
goes against the rules or signs of this forum.
Thanks

Agree. If not certain, research land jurisdiction via maps prior to visiting a questionable area. Sometimes a leaf licker will post up "No Trespassing" signs on public land. Gather some intel before the ride and ride confidently.

That's the gate to the Crane Creek Main Line.

you can take it over to Frailey Mtn too where the Verizon tower is! which is a great view across the Stilly valley.

I think it is generally posted "no unauthorized vehicles" but those signs don't stay long. So ignorance is a solid defense imo.

**Pilchuck creek down there to the south of the mainline is the bitchenest swimming hole I have found in N snohomish county since I've lived here. Can't wait till is warms up......wait a second, what am I doing inside....PEACE OUT!

edit: Oh ya it's in S Skagit!
