Made it up to the BRP around stone mountain yesterday, rode through the sheets gap area, was a fun ride, still a little chilly round those parts

howdy peeps, I'm looking to do try out dual sporting a little, and I'm from the Kaaaaaaang area. Come on, you know that's how 'eerbody pronounces that 'round these parts. I've been a sportrider for years, but am looking to start getting in to a little dual sporting. You could add the hp of all 3 of my bikes right now and they would all still not equal what I'm used to. But I'm having fun, just picked up a CRF230F this past Dec to play with the kids in the dirt(my 1st dirtbike), purchased a 05 DRZ400SM last year, been a work in progress but almost done, and just bought a '12 Weestrom ADV last week. Who wants to show me some good DS stuff?

I grew up in Stokes county. I just got a dl650 and me friend has a dr650. We have been hitting the back road of Stokes and Surry. I'm a little disappointed that allot of the old dirt roads are paved now.

I have noticed that to, probably has a lot to do with school bus safety and all that. I remember when the road to the top of Saurtown Mountain was all dirt. You just have to venture out farther to find the dirt roads, they are disappearing around here.

Stokes County and tar snakes

Speaking of roads in Stokes... What's up with all the tar snakes on Perch and Trinity Church Roads? I don't remember this being an issue in prior years, but it's gotten pretty slick lately.

I didn't notice Last time I went down Trinity Church road, but I turned off on Calloway's road.

Hey guys, just happened to catch this thread. Can't believe I didn't notice it earlier. I live in Advance, was living in "the Dash." Commute daily on my KLR 650. Also looking for some dirt roads to learn on. Trying to get ready for the TAT in August. Before the KLR, rode a Honda Shadow for 9 years that I was able to take everywhere.
Highly recommend Wall too Wall ATV and Cycle in Pinnacle. Guys are awesome there and do great work at fair prices. Work on all Japanese type motorcycles but they can change tires on all brand names.
