Found this one today in North Devon UK. I havent done any research on this but I would have thought it strange to have a monument this size for a Lieuitenant in the Crimea?

edit. The 17th lancers were the regiment of the Charge of the Light Brigade. The date of Thomson's death is on that date. The monument was erected by his brother.

Kamehameha Rock

"As the legend goes, the reason for this 1000 lb rock at this site is that it was carried this far by King Kamehameha to show off his strength to his men when they were transporting all the washed lava stones/rocks from the "Pololu Valley" to build the "Pu'ukohola Haeiu" (over thirty miles away)

Here is a sign on Rt 39 at the WV/VA state line. It's hard for me to imagine 10,000 troops camping at one place. How long would it take them to march by one spot on those Civil War era roads?

Here we go:

Didn't know this one was here until Mrs. melville and I did this (we are humspuds on that site):

For those of you who can't see that one, here's the text:

Not sure what to say about the UFO. There was some super secret Navy stuff going on in the vicinity, but that was years ago.

Cos

Here's one from the Greek island of Kos. I'm not sure what it says as I don't read German.

This was nearby, but I can't remember if it was associated with the German memorial. Something about 8 September 1944 and "Nazistikes".
