HBN - Dolly Sods sounds like fun!

SteelB12 - I haven't sold my trailer yet. But I only really use it for runs to the landfill...My motorcycle(s) rarely go on it...

But dang, getting a KLR that needs work sounds like fun (in a perverse sorta way).

They don't appear to have much in the way of grand opening specials:

"... including saving 50% on all BILT motorcycle covers, and all STOCKTON locks and our buy 3 oils get 1 free (regularly priced castrol, erskine and motorex oils) from April 29-May 5"
Yeah, I just saw it yesterday while running errands for work. They're having a grand opening thing next weekend. Don't tell the boss, but I took a pit stop to have a quick look inside! Like others said, a lot of Bilt gear with which I have no experience, but the price looks too good for it to be high quality gear. They do have some quality gear in there though, but prices seem to be about the same as anywhere else.

For the price point and sizing I'm happy with the built gear I have bought. I returned one pair of boots for a split seam after 10 months (and one crash) and they gave me a new pair no questions asked. When I went down on the interstate with the flat tire I shredded portions of Built armored jacket. It sacrificed itself but no damage to my arms or torso. I did break my big toe in two places and was wearing Built (Non-MX) boots but that probably would have happened anyway. I found my Built jacket to be surprisingly waterproof but too hot for spring/summer wear. Great for fall/winter. I like the dual sport helmet. Seems the visor blocks sun better than my AFX and it has the inner sun shield which is nice. I do miss the ratchet chin strap on the AFX.

nice blixa, my old stomping grounds. I used to live in Leesburg. I miss the quick access to good roads. I don't miss the commute to work.

I'd choose the MD side for the return ride back to DC than VA. THere are so many nice twisty roads and some dirt on the MD side until you get to Speedtrap-Potomac MD.

Nice shots

Dolly Sods Circuit

Here are a few pics from the 25 mi circuit hike and subsequent hike up Seneca Rocks for dessert.

Rolled these in granola, brown sugar and cinnamon.

Night. Hiked 7 mi in the dark for the fun of it. Beautiful views of Cannan below at night.

Did check out the cave on Old 55 just east of Baker though. Will explore more next visit

Hey that's my stomping grounds!

BTW, from White's Ferry, you can head north towards Sugarloaf Mtn. for a nice loop. Starting at the south end: Sugarloaf Mountain Road -> Thurston Road -> Peters Road -> Park Mills Rd. -> Mt Ephraim and then either Comus to finish the loop or W Harris Rd for some more gravel into Barnesville.

Thanks Banshee - it really is so beautiful out there, but I can see how the killer commute would do me in. But if it were closer, that area wouldn't have any empty roads. The pitfalls of living in a metro area... As long as I can get out there sans hair-pulling and gnashing of teeth on a Saturday, I guess I can live with the trade-off :)

Thanks TH and HBN! And HBN - thank you for the tip and those trip photos are quite stunning.

Thank you verrrry much for the tip. I'm looking forward to trying out the loop!

Wow is right...stunning mix of horsepower, skill and a bit of insanity!

That's the place for it too...a organized race...and now I'll get off my soapbox....
