1 more ride report - probably the best I have found so far:

Watch out for the horses. You'll be flying through there in a narrow, very tight trail in places and the rhododendron will be above your head. If you hit (crash) horses in there you are screwed, heck imagine the riders. I have seen a empty beer can in there every couple of miles. Hitting a drunk would be bad.

I haven't had a 60csx for a while but I'm pretty sure I used several memory chips and swapped them out during the ride. If your saving tracks, I'm pretty sure you can save them to the chips also.

Could a V-Strom 650 make it on this trail?

Hello,

I'm moving to Galax VA next week, and this trail looks like fun.

However, what is everyone's thoughts about making on a V-Strom 650 that's setup well for off-roading? Bike too big for this trail?

Cheers

A 500lb bike would be a chore at best - IMO. I am of the light is right mentality. A lot of the route is just gravel - but there is a good bit of muddy, rutted trail - and also rocky jeep roads. Some guys can throw around large bikes like 2 strokes - so if thats you have a it .

With fuel it weighs in just shy of 300lbs . Still a porker - but manageable

My old WR250R at 300lbs was a good fit for the trail.
