Oil leak

I have a 04 950 with a new leak. After a ride I am noticing oil running down the stator cover. It looks like it may be coming out from where the wires come out of the cover but I can't quite tell. It could be coming from a little higher. Any ideas.

The grommet that the wires pass through is sealed with some goo. It isn't always applied 100%. Get a new gasket, three-bond semi-hardening sealer (1190?) and re-do it.
"Dad, can I get a motorcycle when I grow up?"
"Son, you can't do both"

Clean the oil up as best as you can, then liberally dust talcum powder over the area where you think it's leaking and fire up the bike and watch closely, you'll see exactly where it's leaking from.

My guess is that it'll be the oil switch which sits in between the cylinders

The stator cover gasket is metal and might be reused if removed carefully.

Hope its the grommet or the oil pressure switch and not a "Pyndon Syndrome".

Mileage on the bike? Mine had 55000 kms on it but had been leaking for a while when I figured out the source of the leak.

Have changed name, was previously Dirty950 (under construction)
