Spring is here!

A few hardy souls braved the elements tonite, and came down to Zuffy's.

Try to come to the group ride next weekend, and also the movie nite at Decatur Garage on 4/27. Anyone is welcome-4 wheels or two!

Let's get some overnites planned for this upcoming season.

See David's invitation below:
Hello Atlanta Friends,
David Giguere (Georgia Overland) and Daniel Palazzolo
(Decatur Garage) are pleased to offer a free screening of Maciek
Swinarski's film "MotoSyberia".
...
Just a heads-up...this is not a kid-friendly film.
I was introduced to this film by Austin Vince (http://www.austinvince.com/)
at his Adventure Travel Film Festival (http://www.adventuretravelfilmfestival.com/)
last year.
Here's a description of MotoSyberia from the ATFF site:
"An incredibly imaginative film of one of the toughest motorcycle trips
ever undertaken, a masterpiece!
Maciek Swinarski is one of the top adventure film-makers in the world
today. His latest film is the story of a seriously hardcore motorcycle
ride from his native Poland to Magadan in eastern Siberia, and has
made him a household name in his homeland. Imbued with a sense
of humour so often absent from travel documentaries, Swinarski fully
engages with the local people as he and his three travelling
companions cross the imposing Russian landmass on their KTM640s.
He shares this amazing experience not only with the viewer, but also
with the people he meets along the way. Motosyberia is the antidote
to the contrived ‘reality’ TV which dominates our screens today
– genuine back to basics stuff, real life action, with all the hardship
and adventure that entails."
Bring a chair and a beverage and join us for this very different sort of
adventure travel film at the best underground film screening
location...Decatur Garage.

A little about the Georgia Overland and Decatur Garage screenings:
Your interest has pushed Daniel and I to find unique and worthy adventure
travel films. We always contact the filmmakers for permission, we never
charge a fee of any sort nor do we receive any compensation in return.
The free screenings are our way of supporting a small but important community
of filmmakers by introducing our friends and family to new films...and it's a great
excuse to hang out with our buddies and make new friends!

I will be there! David is a great guy and Daniel is pretty cool and savvy around mechanical things. The shop is cool just to see. Every gear heads dream! Also lots of cool guys from expedition portal that like to explore with four wheels. Hope to see y'all there!

Just wanted to throw this out there since you guys are local here.....

A buddy of mine from Decatur is doing a pretty cool project, Vincent Around America.... taking a SERIOUSLY Vintage bike on a 7000+ mile ride to help out the Shriners Hospital for Children. Information all about it in the link.

He happens to be doing a thing over at Trackside Tavern this Saturday to raise awareness and gas money for the ride, and celebrate his birthday. Ribs on the grill, Free show by Heather Luttrell, Beer specials.... all with a % going to the Project. Burt Welleford (the Rider) and his 1951 Vincent will be there to tell you all about his (arguably insane) plan for the ride.

Ribs 5ish, Heather 9ish, cheap beer all day and dedicated Motorcycle Parking.... What more could a inmate ask?
AND you get to look at yourself in the mirror Sunday morning and know you helped out some deserving kids.....

BTW, I'll buy the First guy that tells me he's an Atlanta Adventure Rider a frosty cold one......

I'm just sayin'....

Hey inmates, I posted on the meetup page about my ride up to this event tomorrow. Rain is likely but I still plan on going. Probably will take my "street bike" (DL-1000) but let me know if you're coming. I plan to leave about 8:30 from McDonald's in Canton. about 150 miles, 3 hrs to the race.
