coming to colombia with my duck...

hola/hello,

i will be finishing my eight-country south american adventure in colombia. i will arive at the border near the last two weeks of april. i need advice on what roads and places to visit, which to avoid, and also need help finding a company that can ship my bike back from cartegena to portland, oregon usa.

my plan is to ride north to cartegena through whichever cities are suggested, and then relax on the caribe beaches for a week before flying home and going back to reality and my job on may 9th.

also, i would be interested in selling my 2012 triumph tiger 800xc to someone in columbia if that situation works well for anyone wanting to begin a south america journey in columbia. PM me about that if you or anyone you know might be interested.

fritz
(currently in mancora, peru)

here is my ride report:

Hi guys. I'll be flying into Cartagena on May 14th and looking for a small bike to buy to head to TDF. There is some great advice in this thread. I have spent a lot of time riding in North and Central America, and it will be my first time in South America - if any of you would like to meet up or if you have any advice, recommendations not listed here please let me know!

If you want to tour some backroads & see some stuff there's loads of places to go with maps too.

I'm about to get into Colombia to spend almost a month seeing everything and everywhere I can in the country before riding south. I'm pumped to read through this thread to get great advice as I begin to plan where to go and what to see!

I just arrived in Colombia myself. Came in Girag and planning to go to see the famous Mike in Cali for route ideas over and local news beyond what I've gleaned here. If convenient let's meet for a beer somewhere.
