From having ridden with GLDS and also riding with a number of folks on here, I'd have to say that most here would be more at home the what the GLDS refereed to as their "Adventure Bike" loops. Unfortunately they don't have many events that still have those loops last I heard. A few who haven't already ridden GLDS events would probably enjoy the standard routes.

For any interested, a bunch of us from ST.n are getting lunch at Clara's Station in Lansing at 1 today. I know some here are also members there. Headed out the door at 9 this morning and taking the really long way to get there.

I'll be there Tom. Just no comments about ugly V-Stroms cluttering up the lot alongside those pretty Sport tourers. It is even dirty with New Mexico dust on it still.

Yeah, well.....

I just got a call right after posting that. The roofing contractor is coming over this morning. I'm not gonna make it. *sigh*. Story of my riding season.

Of course, you were at Clara's. My Lansing favorite.

If you happen to be Up North near Mesick this Saturday Kent Nothstine and I will be there at the Mushroom Grill. We will meet about Noonish+ . This place has good chow and lots of good Forest service roads around it. Right on the only Main st of Mesick.Easy to find.

Man, I wish I could make it....Some of the best riding in the state is between Baldwin and Mesick and Jeff knows every road and trail. The Mushroom Grill has great food and the pretty waitress there makes lunch even more pleasant.....Have fun guys!

Gotta agree with Charlie here.

I've looked into the GLDS, but I don't think my KLR would be welcome.

Nothing against 'em, but this crowd wouldn't fit, by and large.

Lol, I wish painting it orange would give me a KTM or the ability to ride it.

Nothing against the GLDS, good for those guys for riding together and promoting street legal, off road riding. I just don't think there is a place for those of us with bigger bikes and lesser abilities in that group.

Maybe I'm wrong?

I see what you mean. Thirty years ago I was one of those guys. Or was it forty?

Lol, o well. I just hope to keep up with you as an old man :)

In the end I'm happy with my riding buddies and have a difficult enough time trying to find time to ride with them!
