Play bikes

New here! Since hardcore motocrossers call anything that isn't a YZ, CR, KX, SX, or RM a play bike, lets start a thread for pics of "play bikes"! Any 2-stroke that you would rip off road with, jump, and basically have some fun bottoming-out moments on qualifies. I'll start with my 1991 Yamaha RT 180. It's reliable as the day, morning, evening, and night is long and a blast to ride. The suspension isn't the best, but by gum, it works. Every week we go riding out at a track in the boonies and I take the old smoker, because the only other bike I have is a 1977 Honda CT 125. I've jumped the thing--35 feet repeatedly, 25 feet constantly--and I weigh 200 lbs being 6' 6", but the little sucker gives me no troubles. Nothing like flying on one of those old buggers--everybody looks at you like "what in the world?!?" Here she is!

Here's mine- 1988 DT50. It's a budget playbike...I have about $250 in it. You would think a 50cc dirt bike could not hurt you, but I have proven that theory wrong!

Those are awesome! Keep them coming everybody! I think the part about " You would think a 50cc dirt bike could not hurt you, but I have proven that theory wrong!" needs more detail I like the fact that you only have $250 into it. I paid $150 for mine, and then put on a new rear tire, patched the seat, bought an air filter, and relaced the rear wheel. Good as new I've had an opportunity to buy an IT 250, but I didn't know how they were for jumping and such. Probably about the same as what I already have though. You should paint your gas tank man!

Here's mine -

It's an xr100 with a 120cc kit. I built it to compete in a local mini road race series. I have knobbies for it too.

the IT was yamaha's enduro bike at the time (IT stands for International Trials). the 250 and 400 was basically rehashed outdated YZ stuff with different porting/pipe and a bit more rake/trail. they can rip if setup right.
the IT175 was its own thing... and a very competent trail bike that can take a ton of abuse.

Down to this one-just out of storage and ready to be cleaned up in/out and maybe even make a street scrambler:

Yep, original but lightly restored 73 MX(not a playbike back in the day however). If you could keep it out of 8 false neutrals, you could get a chequered flag. I had a new 72 endure 125 back in 73 as my 1st real bike w/a clutch...paid 699 & sold it for 175.
