It sure is a Vincent.

Same bike (obviously), slightly different angle:

Yes the original swingarm & steering bushings/bearings were weak and would flex. This frame has been reinforced and handles the modern suspension great. My motor has also been completely rebuilt with new crank seals, porting, hone, new pistons, rings, electronic ignition and flat slide Keihin carbs. The compression is 150PSI in all cylinders. The Tank is from an Suzuki RE5 Rotary and the tail is hand made from a rusted out RE5 tank.

Overall it handles just like a modern bike, no flex, nothing weird or scary other than now you can ride it too fast!

To give you an idea, here is a short onboard video of the Buffalo running thru the gears this spring on a road near my home.

I did a 100 miles on the Buffalo today for my Sunday ride.

At one point I thought I wanted a XLCR. I was riding a '74 BMW R60/6 at the time and went and talked to the local HD dealer about a trade. We worked up a pretty good deal, I'm sure they wanted to get rid of the couple XLCRs that they had on the floor for a couple years.

Then they made the mistake of letting me take a test ride.

The firestone tires felt slippery, power wasn't that much more than the BMW, and even with 3 discs, the brakes were worse than the drums on the BMW. I returned it to the dealer and went shopping for something else.

But these days, I kinda think I'd like to find a rough cheap XLCR that I could update.

I believe I've seen this in person at some of the C&C meets last year and this year. You came out to C&C on saturday May 4? I had my son with me and his little plastic tri-cycle. Very Nice bike.

Yes you are correct I was on my GT and my son was riding his yellow Triumph Super III! My son Deavin organizes C&C and we ride our bikes on occasion. In fact, we are trying to get more bikes to come out. Last weekend I rode my 82 Katana 1000 and my son rode my CB900F. We would love to see you out on your bike. What car did you drive? If you see me come up and say hi, I ride my Smoker often to C&C as well as a couple of others. -Sean

Last year I came out to C&C once on my 99 CB750 Nighthawk, I plan on coming out with it as soon as I get it's jet kit installed and tuned.
My cars are not show type of car, Civic and Insight. Its my bike I like to show.
But once I get it up and running I plan on bringing it out more.
And yes we need more bikes to come out.
On facebook I started the Tri-State Motorcyclist club, I will start posting about the C&C event on there.
