I'm just gonna throw this out there. Maybe the ignition is going bad. Have you checked for spark right after it dies out? I had this happen once with a Husky. Same syptoms, got hot and would die, and then cooled off it would start and run till it warmed up again.

OK so I just tried to kick it over and it fired up for 1 to10 Seconds a few, times, but when it did it smoked ridiculously (and not just the normal amount of smoke, I'm talking clouds) and I had to repeatedly crank on the throttle to even keep it running for 10 seconds of smokiness then it would die out again.

I would check the coil. I don't have a manual for the numbers but it appears like the sparkplug isn't getting enough juice to produce a strong spark.

I would fathom the wet side clutch seal went and you are sucking tranny oil through it.

So the motor has to be split to replace that seal right? Is there a specific tool I should get to split the cases, I have heard that the husky cases are easy to damage while splitting?? I guess while im doing all of this i should replace the other seals and clutch plates, as im sure none of that has been done in the last couple of decades. Is there anything else I should do while I'm in there? I really wanna go through everything this time as its a 30 year old bike and I dont think its had more than a top end replaced.
