My cables are OK but my brake line is maxed out.

My brake hose is tight, but my clutch and throttle cables are almost as tight. I have wide bars though

Helped a couple friends sell/buy a bike but in the end I got a cheap bike. She has been down and has a little rash and broken plastic. Nothing I can't live with but I am also debating making it a project to include a GSXR fork swap.

Does anyone want a Corbin seat for a 99-02 SV650?

I just bought one (in perfect condition) on fleabay, and my daughter doesn't care for it, and it's her bike....

Bump me if interested.

Picked this up today, 1999 with 2400 miles on it. I'll get better pictures when it stops raining.

"...I have my SV set up for commuting and sport touring. I just installed a set of Cortech Sport saddlebags. and I have a givi rack & 45L topcase I can install for long trips. Other than suspension work there isnt much I would change about the SV. Its comfortable, reliable, cheap to maintain and fun to ride...."

One more lurker coming out of the shadows.
I have a gen1 SV650S. Prior to last year I was riding the SV just for sport and used an ST1300 sport touring. I parked the ST in Florida and use the SV in New England, for my "everything bike." I mounted Cortech soft saddle and tail bags on it and wired in a GPS. I run Michelin Pilot Power 3s (2ct+) tires, recently changed up from Pilot 2CTs. I ride it hard and relatively fast and never dip below 50 mpg. 55 mpg is typical. I run medium heat range plugs (NGK Iridium CR8EIX).
I have been known to "flirt" with bigger, stronger bikes. BUT!
Since I run with a lot of liter bikes and inline 4cy 600s, all have power advantages but (they) struggle to use that advantage. In side by side comparison through the twisty mountain roads of Vermont, New Hampshire and western Massachusetts, it is way, way more fun to ride a (relatively) slow bike fast than a fast bike slow.
Taking in to account the "grin factor," SVs are hard to beat, rugged, reliable and reasonable to obtain, and maintain. I'll be keeping mine and expanding the types of adventures to which it and I are capable.

I crashed this January and started replacing the body work with both new and used parts.

I never had a bad buying experience with any seller.

Glad things worked...

Picked mine up yesterday. Candy Anteres Red curvey.

Registered it today and got about an hour of riding time in. Totally different than my '83 GR 650. Pretty sure I hate the seat--or it hates me

Just hate to put holes in driveway when the pavement is hot.
