Fantastic, I'll try that as soon as I get the wr250r back on the road. A guy needs two bikes so he can wrench on one while he's ridin' the other one)Rextec's spotless example gave me an inferiority complex.
Winter riding means as much time cleaning and looking after the bike as riding it.

Question Battery?

Hey guys,

I don't keep up with this thread, but my wife's bike needs a new battery. She has a 2007 xt225. Which battery would you recommend? Thanks.

Get a sealed AGM. They last longer.

Is the stock Yuasa a sealed AGM? If it lasted this long you might consider a direct replacement. I replaced my Yuasa with the same one for my 2000 (different battery from yours)
The store owner dissuaded me from getting a Yuasa for my wr250r, however, because it cost 2 1/2 times as much as another brand he carried. He told me had had as good luck with Chinese brand he carried, but the biggest factor was using it every week, and or keeping the bike on a 3 stage charger. The Yuasa was a better battery, but not nearly 2 1/2 times better. He wasn't too stoked on the Shorais either, citing needing a different charger for them.
In retrospect, I might have purchased a kickstarter instead for the xt. Their batteries seem to last forever!

Thanks. I believe the stock Yuasa is a sealed agm (haven't looked at it recently). The original battery did last this long so I may go with it again.

Battery

When mine died I went looking local and couldn't find one for a reasonable price. I got the last 2 from either Walmart or Pep Boys for less than $30 I think. I am on the second year of the latest one and it is still working fine, I do use a battery tender

You can get a cheap battery of ebay for about $23 shipped. I think that is pretty cheap.

Around here that would be the Big Box outfits like Bert's, Chapparal etc. Prices aren't all that great at either.

Cycle Gear has fewer offerings but almost always better pricing. There's on in Victorville, Berdoo and a few places down the hill.

As for batteries, I recommend this one. http://estorebc.mkbattery.com/Catego...2001-2006.aspx

I have had very good luck with them. This battery fits all years '92-'07. I have a 2 XT225s, a '94 which is the one I ride, and a non running but great condition '01 that I bought as a spare/parts bike, or it wouldn't take much to get it going. Has a like new 3000 mile engine. Same battery fits them both.

Thanks for the helmet tips. By down the hill, where? Down the hill from where I live means Cochella Valley.
