Using a mini front fender on a full size bike?

Fellers,
I know I saw a thread on here about using a mini front fender in place of the stock one on a full size bike (like putting a crf150 fender on a xr650l) I have been searching for this tread for two days now and my eyes are killing me! Can anybody shed some light for me? Hell, I hope it was in this forum, the only others I use are SMJ and TT.
I got a 1983 xr200 (twin shock model) that I am turning into a dual sport, flat-tracker, supermoto, yamaha TW, knobbied dirtbike. Or, something of the sort (depends if it all goes together well).
Thank you for any insight, much appreciated.

Kirk

Take a look at the CR80/85 front fenders.

That's ironic, about 3 years ago I (my wife actually) had a 1983 XR200R (single shock) and I installed a CRF150F front fender on it. It didn't look "mini" at all, I'm pretty sure that the 150F and 230F shared body work so it didn't look out of place on the 200. If I remember correctly, I had to add a spacer (slightly angled, washers would work just as well but I had a chunk of UHMWPE laying around) above the fender/ below the lower triple clamp to keep the fender off of the frame/header. If you want a smaller fender, try either a CR80/85 CRF150R fender instead, or possibly a universal "supermoto" front fender from Acerbis/UFO/Cycra/etc.

I've used a CR80 fender on a CR/F frontend to improve cooling and they used the same bolt pattern.

Thanks for the replies, yeah my xr200 has the 3-bolt pattern on the fender and I was looking at the xr100 fender (same bolt pattern) and thought it might be smaller for cooling purposes, and maybe cheaper, too. I don't mind hacking up a fender to make it look like what I want, but it gets pretty expensive when you just can't get it right the first/second time. I saw a pic somewhere and you might be right, it probably was a cr80-85 fender on a fullsize bike, it looked kind-of kool, too.

Oh yeah, the other reason was that I am going for the red-orange honda color, "flash-red." The cr80-85 never came in that color.

Have only found KTM orange and nothing in the Honda "flash-red", or I would go that route. Thanks.

Really? Check amazon. They had lots of colors from acerbis.

Edit: Yes, just checked amazon. They have Acerbis, UFO and Cycra brands available. In red.
