OK This is definitely riding weather I guess I should get off my backside and start doing some recon work.

I am looking at doing a simple road ride from Surrey to Kamloops and back for this weekend (Sunday, May 12th) and then doing weekend overnighters on the following weekend and onward. Just post up if you want to tag along.

If all works out ....

... I'll be there.

Heading to BC for the first 2 weeks of Sept - if plans all fall into place, I'll be there!

OK, I've done two recon runs in up in Kamloops. The riding up here is awesome. Had a hoot both times. Discovered one slight problem. Apparently I'm hitting roads that were used on the last Big Trallie Ride (#6). Having said that I will honestly try to avoid having a Paxton Valley style section. For those of you not in the know, Paxton Valley was a nice hard base road with about 3 inches of thick mud on top. It would jam up your treads and then you would slide everywhere.

The first recon was south towards Merritt and Kelowna. I did find a nice road south of Kamloops but then ended up on the Douglas Lake road. Can't really call it an adventure ride when we are sharing the road with Volkswagen Vans. Also the Penask and Bear FSR from Merritt to Kelowna is quite nice with just a hint of roughness in the middle. It won't be in this year's ride, but maybe it will be when the ride is based out of Merritt.

The second recon was up towards Adams Lake. This was a good ride. The roads were good, but could get a touch greasy with rain. Also camped at Momich Creek which is an awesome site.

The next recon ride is planned for June 22-23.

I'll also try to post some pics and vids up soon too.

Mike

Paxton Rd.

Wasn't all that bad on #6. All good stuff in there. Couple of us are doing #6 all oven again this year cause that was such an awesome ride, thanks to Ross. Kept the route sheet. The beauty of that particular ride was the big bike friendliness route. Keep up the good work at your end. Its much appreciated.

Yup, hard to argue when the man has spoken.

Just goes to show that the only truly easy ride is on pavement, but then who wants that?

Does anyone have the old route maps still?

We are trying to plan a trip at the end of June for 4-6 days.

Cheers

Now while I work on editing the video from this recon ride, I'd like to post the teaser trailer for this year's epic adventure ride. Hope this will get your adrenaline going.

Just have to warn I just got a Mac so I feel like a kid with a new hammer. Just have to bash everything to see what happens. :) I'll post something more suitable later.

Mike

Last year Farmerger and I rode the same section, dryer than a popcorn fart with moon dust a foot deep. Brought back memories of #6 when it was wet. Still a great fun and challenging route on the big bikes.

The Mac did fine, the Mook (me) messed it up. Should be fixified now. Almost done the real ride video.

That was very realistic, just like other movie trailers. I'm sure no one will be let down now, by the ride itself.......
So glad to see beef is on the menu.
