This is looking good! Looking forward to Madagascar.

Surviving the traffic jam of Antananarivio we are on a good tarmac road now, and the only problem is to pronounce the names of the local villages.

Of course you can cruise through the Avenue du Baobab, but its much more fun to leave some dust behind.

regards
Joe

This is just great to watch!! You're living my dreams!!!
This is what I want to do one day, ride through Madagascar on a bike.
I've traveled these roads several times, by car, when I was a child, with my family - and later on a trip back "home" a few years back.
We actually lived in Belo (Tsiribihina), so the Avenue of Baobab is giving me some fond memories!!

Any more pictures? - or is the Internet-connection to slow?

Good luck with the rest of trip!!

why did you not use the 1190 hub in the rear? in using the 990 rear hub did you have to make/fit spacers? If so how did you get this done?

On the rear wheel of the 1190R they are is using a different way of lacing the wheel.
So you cant mount an offroad rim on the original hub.
The original 990 hub fits without spacers.

Check his website or his blog....

He' s back in austria and writes that the 1190adv passed the test with flying colors. No issues whatsoever except two loosening screws of the rack system that had to be tightened.
