Certainly a good basic idea. Wonder how he works out issues with rain, bugs, etc. Seems like realistically you're still going to need a tent.

Trailer seems problematic on many levels, tent is most compact and a room now and then is still cheaper than building and maintaining a trailer, but it still struck me as cool.

Pretty cool, but I think the tiny cot would be uncomfortable. I love the small galley, but would simply throw a tent, fold up cot, and blowup mattress in the trailer instead of cramming myself into the coffin sized bunk.

It said patent pending, I would venture to say that the finished product would have some kind of a cover on it. For the video purposes though I can understand leaving it off.

If I remember right, there was a build thread somewhere here on ADV about that trailer. I remember reading something about it coming about because the guy has a bad back.

Me and my tent in Picos de Europa, Spain... In retrospective, I didn't need that big of a tent. Will try to get a smaller one for solo rides.

i am guessing the trailer guy lives in a dry climate and/or is a fair weather rider and camper like most HD riders. i would much prefer to have a tarp/ tent combo to be able to unpack, hang out, and pack up out of the rain. i dont need a galley as my cook gear packs up and goes in a side bag, i can carry a chair, etc, etc.

Idaho is pretty dry, but actually the bike is an 800 Kawasaki Drifter.

Sorry no tent

This is three miles up the road to Deer Flats in S. Ut. I always bring at least a Bivy sack, but out here I usually just throw down a poncho / poncho liner and fall asleep to the coyotes yapping. Now Oregon, different story.

I prefer the hammock when the weather is warm enough. Sleep more soundly (maybe too sound) & no sore spots the next day. Keeps me off the ground away from creepy crawlers & smaller mammals. One downside I've found is it can be a challenge to get in & out when inebriated.
