Already fitted new Kibblewhite push rods & mushroom tappet adjusters. Now have to fit longer rods for the stretched barrels . They arrived from MAP in the first shipment.
Drilling & polishing the primary drive cover today.

The clutch now runs dry so it needs more air for cooling

Marking out

Done

It's not perfect but it wasn't to start with, it's a race bike not a show pony .

Are extra holes for when you "let the clutch out"

Good to see your Std 4 compass set coming in useful

Xmas has arrived early , or maybe it is really late

Bangy bits

Shiny bits

Even a manual

Got the advice from customs yesterday paid the thieving tax man & went straight to the airport to pick up the gear, couldn't wait for the courier.
Hopefully will get the crank & associated bits to Dr Bob the balancing man this arvo

Progress at last

Cap section is steel, the all alloy rods are not as strong & tend to distort or stretch.. So I'm told .

Triumph have be using steel end caps like forever - I'd've thought this far into the 21st Century ET's weird ideas would be thrown in the bin. Nice barrels ! Billet - I'd like to be the floor sweeper in that factory, a good bit of pocket money by the end of the week.

Are you thinking of running at the HMCC events? 24th August?
the poster shows classics, could be worth a look.
I'd have to put my ring gear back in as poor old Joe Lucas was smoking trying to start a real engine.

Yeah, August should be doable. Was really aiming for Taupo September 7th.

I see ' The Burt ' is on last week of November , first week Dec. Man up Volty, you know you want to.
Could even leave the bikes in my trailer at Nelson somewhere & do the Nelson race on Jan 2 , have a holiday in sunny Nelson at the same time.

Back in the real world , the head is in Wgtn, a bloke there is cutting threads in the exhaust ports so I can fit stubs & push over pipes rather than those shit house push in jobbies, should be back in a week or so.

I'm trying to get my house finished and on the market to capitalise on the Jaffa house shortage.

I think next year I would be a starter.
