few days back installed the CJdesigns' fuel filler, LOVING IT.

one minor problem thou, so far did 4 fill up. About 5 mins after filling up the bike, it started leaking fuel from the overflow (about 100ml or so?)

didn't had this problem with the stock filler cap. fill up with nozzle fully inserted and stop upon click.

anyone encountered this?

It is important to use a one way valve on that cap. Since I don't have the canister for the overflow I plugged that side hole and installed a regular tank one way vent with nipple.

I have the evo1 map with the full akrapovic exhaust. I originally purchased the slipon and recently purchased the header. After installing the header I did the 15 minute reset. It was dark out so I was able to see the first 8 inches glow. Any reason why it would run leaner after putting the header on? I have a local shop that said they would remap it with a custom map for $150. Should I just go ahead and have them do it?

Also, what kind of coolant is in these bikes from the factory? Would it be wise to flush it and refill with engine ice?

There is a specific mapping for the full Akra system. If your dealer remaps have them show you on the computer the program. it will have the date and version thereof. Dealers have been known to install what they thought was the right map but wasn't. Charging you $150 seems excessive IMHO.

They installed the 2012 evo1 maps when I purchased the bike and removed all the emissions crap. I believe there are only two akro maps, evo1 and evo2. The custom bike shop runs a dyno on the bike and sets up/makes a map accordingly. This normally costs 250 but since I know the guy he will do it for 150. Nearest dealer to me is 3.5 hours away so any suggestions are welcome.

Anyone here put a "E" dash on a "R"? What all did it entail?

I know it's kind of crazy as the E dash isn't that reliable but I've got a new one from my '08 I want to put on the '11.

I probably need a psycologist for this... while there is no logical explanation , I just like riding with the "E" dash at night... it makes me happy... when riding alone for long periods in the darks it's my nighttime companion... my buddy!

DR650 ... ?

Double the HP ... ? Are you replacing its engine ... ?

That's what I meant when I said I know of no other motorcycle where you can improve so much on the performance reliably for so cheap.

Obviously $1,500 on our 690's isn't going to increase hp by a very much % (or course it's harder to go up when your already at the top ). The WR450 & XR650R's can be improved a significant percentage for cheap over stock as they are so corked up.
But nothing I know of can improve as much as the KLX...

690 parts

KTM 690 E parts needed.

I need the complete head light assembly for a '08 E.
Anyone have one have one for sale ?

I could also need a set of triple clamps for the E or R , a set of
forks for the E or R and the complete front brake system ( rotor,
caliper, master cylinder )

I've got a nice set of 2012 SX forks ( twin chamber ) 12" travel
with the SX caliper, disk and master cylinder/ lever.
This is a great set up for a rally bike.

Max
