Here's my new K13. Nothing much updated yet. The EVO 1 airbox, OSCO and GL Fandango tank bag.

The OSCO. See it?

A very unfinished cockpit.

low fender

Quick (and possibly ignorant) question for those that have gone low fender.....

I have the fender and the RR mounting kit. Haven't really looked at it closely yet. Does taking the stock fork protectors off or adding the low fender require the wheel coming off? I don't have my bike with me at the moment but I'm guessing to remove the stock protectors it's the 3 bottom bolts off. Then did people cut the plastic or is it a wheel removal?

Going for my first real DS dirt ride of the year this weekend and have limited time for anything other than basic tweaks.

thx

The 2008+ KTM offroad protectors are a pain in the ass to remove because they are closed in the back, unlike the older ones. You would actually have to remove the wheel and drop the fork tubes down from the triples as you can only slide them up.

Easier solution is to just cut a slit in the back, they will still be rigid enough like that or you can also use a zip tie to keep them closed. Some of the aftermarket guards like Polisport even have a built-in strap to do so.

Thanks, Lukas. I thought I was having a bit of a brain fart thinking it should be easy just to pull them off, but indeed it's either cut or disassemble the front.

Thanks. Love this forum. Even the 'duh, that's so obvious' questions get answered quickly.
