This story confirms one of my biggest fears on a bike. There are just too many angry, frustrated drivers who lack self-control/morals. I never, ever get into it with car drivers when I'm on my bike.

Since I'm local, I'm going to follow this story closely. I wonder if I know either party involved since I'm involved with both the BMW car club and the motorcycle club...

Btw, does anyone else see the irony of one BMW inline 6 hitting another?

Having Pnemonia has absolutely no effect on the memory whatsoever! Cough, fever, shortness of breath, and chest pain are the common symptoms. Her explanation is pathetic. She's definitely trying to cover up for the driver.

Try being on a bicycle with those kinds of people on the road.

Not only are you vulnerable, you can't get out of the danger area with a twist of the wrist!

I have driven AND ridden across that stretch of freeway, as well as up and down the 5/805 corridor many, many times. 99% of the people out there are just trying to get home. ...but... there's that last 1%.

I hesitate to think what would have happened if the off-duty cop hadn't been around.

Westbound at 1745? I guess the eastbound traffic is much higher than the westbound, huh? Otherwise, HowTF could a car have kept up with a MC in traffic?!

Dang, that's a scary-looking bridge. Enough to get vertigo just riding across it.

I've had the lucky opportunity to spend 3 weeks on Coronado during the winter. That bridge is spooky to ride and no shoulder. You can see how narrow it is in the corner.

It's a 5 lane bridge with a moveable center divider. In the morning it's 3 lanes one way, 2 the other. In the afternoon it's opposite.

I'm really glad the officer was there to nab this a$$hole.

I found this:
"The San Diego-Coronado Bridge, locally referred to as the Coronado Bridge, is crossing over San Diego Bay in the United States, linking San Diego, California with Coronado, California. It is the third deadliest suicide bridge in the USA. Between 1972 and 2000, more than 200 suicides were committed on the bridge. Hard to believe when you look at this romantic shot below."

No shoulders, nowhere to pull off.

I was being schmoozed by a company that wanted me to do what was basically a time-share on a harbor cruise boat when someone jumped from the span right in front of us.

Dad was out visiting from VA and he saw it. I was inside drinking complimentary cocktails.

Its a LONG way down and that water isn't soft.

Thats what i was wondering. Heavy traffic is a godsend to get away from road ragers.

I've had them chase me on the shoulder though... pacing me while i'm splitting.

That's one of the reasons I quit racing bicycles, too dangerous. I've had two friends killed and many seriously injured.

Yeah, westbound in the afternoon traffic is going the other way, ie off the island. That said, this was on a Sunday so the traffic was probably pretty light anyways.

So glad that shithead was caught. I've seen my share of angry people driving down the road who get away with extremely dangerous maneuvers. I hope he gets the law laid on him hard.

Put that little cock sucker in the hoosegow for 5 to 10.
That should get his attention.
Do that shit in Idaho and the 1911 comes out of the tank bag,
unless the old lady draws down with her Glock first.

The riders were on a nice BMW, that's about as grown up and responsible as it gets.

So I'm not the only one wondering about the Kalif no CCW laws.

It would be nice to have that option, but I feel pretty safe saying, I seriously doubt he could have pulled and fired while riding. (Not to mention the legal ramifications of shooting someone who threatened you in traffic...)

Once they got hit, I am positive he wouldn't have been able to pull, much less accurately shoot.

Don't get me wrong, I would be all for it, but it's just not realistic in this scenario.
