Jennifer got me a GPSMap 78S for my birthday and I'm wondering if you guys can give me a little advice. I have a Zumo 550 for my street bike and it's fairly idiot proof. But the 78 comes preloaded with only a base map. I do have a 4GB microsd card for storage.

Any suggestions about what map(s) I need to get so this will help for numbered trails and regular roads? Or rather, what would you do if it was new to you and you dual sported a lot.

Vic usually rides quite a bit; he too has a 500EXC. Just watch for posts. Most guys tend to venture out now and then. Not sure with the summer weather, but likely someone always wants in (I know I'll be huddled up in the AC more often).

Alright cool I'll keep an eye out. Pretty much anyone is welcome so long as they have the proper equipment, gear, papers, etc?

Robin,
I can help you with that.
Don't buy anything.
You and Jennifer come over one night for a visit and I'll load you up with detailed topographical mapping.

Hey yall long time no talk! I just finished my schooling up a few weeks ago so I'll have some more opportunities to get the old KLR or Husky out. Already have plans for this weekend but I'll have to tag along sometime in the near future.

Welcome to the madhouse.

Sounds like you are looking for a fast burn ride. Please read post #2 for info on ride and meetup locations.

I will most likely ride Sun and maybe again Mon. Be happy to meet up.

Any one else have plans for the big weekend.

Time to move up roll out time to early.
