Follow-up

Good to see some follow-up on this epic thread. One can only imagine how many people have read through this for one reason or another. Besides, it's just a good old fashioned moto-tail.

I have been riding the old girl !

Here is some proof of riding - she had a small milestone , this spring .

Was on a little gad about , in Northern California . Where it rolled over to 50,000 was on the Alpine Meadows road , behind Squaw Valley , California .

Earlier in the day , we had been on the iconic Rubicon Trail -only got up it a few miles and there was some very large rocks and snow .
However , it was cool heading up the Rubicon, on my g/s !

We then ended our day ,with a burger at the Fire Sign Cafe in Tahoe City , on the West shore of Lake Tahoe .

I had carried the bike in my truck from Montana - weather was super nasty at home and of course very nice in California . I had been out to the Lost Coast and touring thru the Redwood parks . Stopped in Potter Valley and saw a old friend . I would unload the bike and do some very nice day runs and then load it back back up and keep on rolling . Didn't have as much time as I would have liked . Never the less , it was a sweet day to turn 50,000 miles .

Tom's old bike runs as good as ever !

Next stop ......100,000

Go Ken! So glad it's getting used. In the meantime I'm racking up the miles on a 2013 oilhead GS Adventure. I miss the airheads.

Good to hear from you Ken! Glad you're enjoying the bike and it's treating you well.

You'd need a trials bike for the Rubie. It's a rock infested ride over the mountain. Rode it on a mountain bike once and had more fun watching the jeepsters navigate.

Hope you were able to ride Usal Rd on the lost coast? It's the best dual sport riding in the area. Perfect match for your bike.

Good to hear from you!

Lost Coast

I didn't get to spend as much time as I would have liked .

I will be back there and do more investigating . Those roads are truly made for motor bike riding .

I camped at Mattole in the Art Way campground -only dude there .

Then on to Petrolia and beyond a ways . That is some interesting country .

Roger that Ken. It's still 1968, tie-dye & Cannabis dominate the landscape. When people say stay on the roads, they aren't kidding!
