Monaco is a spectacle, but it's not a race. It needs to go to make room for a track where the drivers can race.

Looks like you called it.
Shame it wasn't a bit more exciting. Good job Sutil, Perez tho...JB will be telling everyone "see..I told you so"

Congrats Nico!

Winning the most historically significant race on the F1 calendar, leading from start to finish and being the first son of a winner to win the race, just about a perfect day for you.

Anyone have a videolink to Kimi's last lap? From p13 to p10 on the last lap in Monaco. There must have been something with that group as there was 2 or 3 yellow flags for them. TV feed shows when there's a yellow flag somewhere on the track and they showed it on the last lap for few times while leaders and Sutil, Alonso, Button group who did not have any moments during the last lap was in the pictures, so the flags must have been for Kimi's group.

Still kept the points series alive (now 23 races in a row) and finished races at 34 or something. No matter how hard Perez tried. Last time he was on it in China

Ugggh, I need to vent about the NBC coverage. So I have my DVR set to record all F1 racing. I get up this morning at a leisurely pace to watch the recorded race and what do I see first you ask? Well, I see the three winners of the race on the podium holding up their trophies! Why does NBC play races back to back to back? Any why does my DVR not record the first race and then tape the second one so I get to see the ending first!

OK, rant over.

Possibly because the live broadcast was on NBC OTA instead of on the NBC sports cable channel, as it usually is?

This used to happen to me between FOX and Speed. I had to open up the Tivo settings a bit.

+1. I now use a wishlist instead of a season pass. Grabs whatever channel the race happens to be on.

I use something like "Formula 1 Racing" (-practice) so that I only get Qualifying and Race broadcasts. I'd have to check the exact syntax if you want specifics.

C'mon Leigh, pull your garters up.
Since you brought it up...

Diffey: "The penalty was given to he and his teammate..." "Him"! Not "he". Or is that an Aussie thing?

Also, if you had a drinking game based on anyone on the NBC team saying

"absolutely"

"no doubt about it"

or

"massive"

you'd be falling-down drunk by lap 2.

+1 on the radios. They need an audio cut-out when the transmissions come on. To see how it shouldn't be done watch any Indycar race where the radio transmissions come on under the announcers, who don't pause for them, but instead talk over them. Why even have them?

Also less Matchett. He's taking over. Dial him back. I know a lot of people dislike Hobbs, but he's my favorite of the bunch. Doesn't shout to generate excitement where there isn't any, not afraid to needle the drivers, teams, and sport.

I used to dislike Hobbs, but lately I am liking him more for the reasons you say. Take Matchett's telestrator away and dial him back a bit I agree. Other than that I think they did OK, and the lucky bastards were there!

I guess there's going to be some drama over the tire test, but likely won't result in anything, and its a shame Grosjean is the only one penalized for Montreal (so far)

I think the coverage was pretty good for network TV.

Matchett moved up a click or two for me with the comment concerning Mercedes tires lasting 20 laps before going away. That's pretty in depth knowledge of what's going on. But most of the time he could stay home as far as I'm concerned.

Button was interviewed after the race and asked about the aggressive passers, and he mentioned how they'll get away with it for a little while, but eventually they'll pay for it. Perez sure did.

So, what is that for Mercedes - four poles and two race wins. Only it's the wrong guy who's performing

I think its 'funny' that Jean Todt visited Ferrari, when its a known fact that he and Ferrari used to do the exact same thing with Bridgestone!

And they won't strip the win. They will likely just fine them an insignificant amount (which in F1 is still 6 digits).

Gotta love Kimi's media skills:

"Asked if the drivers would talk to Perez, Raikkonen said: "That won't help.
Maybe someone should punch him in the face."
