Based on comparison to previous years mileage figures, it looks like we'll be running very close to the 2011 course with one pit removed (Stinson Well).
If that is true, this is a pretty fast course

That was my plan. Kind of bummed about blowing it off but it looks like it's more $$ smart to run the Norra Mex 500 while out for the Baja Rally. Traveling back and forth from the east coast is costly. Two rallies on back to back weekends equals one road trip!

I know this has been asked here before, but what you guys recommend on tire combo for a 450 bike. Will they last whole race or is second set of wheels necessary? thx

On my 450x I run the Dunlop D739 rear w/uhd tube and slime (may try a rear mousse this year) and Dunlop MX51 in the front with a mousse.
Last year we did the whole race on one rear tire, but of course it was smoked at the end. Front still had plenty of play ride life left.
Having a spare wheel set is definitely good insurance, its a long race and you never know what will happen.
