Some states do require the dealers here to collect sales tax, though.
Yup. Here in MO you pay sales tax when you get your tags. It always amazes me the number of people who think everything is done the same way in every state.

I'm not sure if I'm "amazed" at people thinking what they know to be true is true in other places. I've lived in 7 different states & DC, and many of them do/did things the same way with regards to vehicle purchases. I think Arkansas (my home state) was one of the only ones that didn't handle all the DMV fees/taxes at time of purchase, and required the new owner to make a separate trip to the DMV on their own to handle all the paperwork & fees.

I kinda take it as a given that "OTD" is going to be different for everyone, because even if all states had the same process of collecting TTL, etc at the dealer, tax rates are different from place to place, so even if every deal is sold at MSRP, OTD prices would still vary from state to state, and in some areas town to town.

I'm easily amazed

I've only got experience in 3 states, MI, MO, TN and they're all different, which doesn't amaze me

Is it the $90 or $40 one? I can't tell from the pictures of the $40 version if it's a two point mount or only mounts in one spot.

If it's the $90 version, do you just get on a mailing list or do you just check for the $48 price daily?

If the $40 version mounts at two points, I'll probably go that route as I'm only interested for wind protection.

$44.91 search "Trackside" and they should pop up. Sorry abt. bad link, I'm at work.

Edit: Link works, but price is now at regular price, abt $85. I must've gotten lucky. Maybe wait 'til next week see if they go on sale again?

Sorry, it appears that they're not on sale anymore. I ordered mine the other evening at $44. Now they're at the $85-90 that you mention. I didn't like the cheaper ones, I figured if I'm going to bother to get and mount guards i may as well get the ones that'll protect me against trees etc...

There is some confusion on their website. It reads $44.99 here:
http://cyclegear.resultsdemo.com/sea...rds?apelog=yes

But when you click on it it goes to the big window and reads $80. Maybe if you call them they'll give you the lower price.

The cheaper one don't have the swivel/adjustable mount, plus they don't have the plastic guards I don't think.I have the cheaper ones ( bought on sale for $19.99 ) on my wifes GS500 and you need to do some fabing to make them work with front disc brakes.

hey look what I found half way down on page 2.

I am still seriously considering this bike, may go to Abernathy's in Union City next weekend and trade if the Nomad hasn't sold by then.

I would like to have a red one with dct. I think I would turn to the aftermarket for luggage and a w/s. I already have a Givi trunk. Just add some v35 panniers, matte black preferred. Cee Bailey's for a w/s. I will want to change the exhaust, too.

DCT where are they?

I know a guy who has been trying to buy a DCT version for 4 months from the local dealer here in Boise. He's standing there with the money in hand. They keep telling him it has shipped, he goes out there, no bike. I wanted to buy one this week. They told me they had two in stock. I go out there and they have one non-DCT NC700X and one of those cruiser style ones. The dealer doesn't even know the difference between these bikes. Does anyone on here know of any DCTs at a dealer they like in WA, OR, UT, or NV? I've given up on the local dealer.
