Jetting

Anybody have any idea of the altitude we will be racing at??? My 450exc has stock jetting at the moment. Im not an A rider by any stretch of the imagination, just a C rider out to have a good time.

I know the highest trail up at Snowshoe is 4848'.

I'd guess the average elevation for the rally would be close to 3800-4200' or so, but that's a complete guess.

Last year, all the racing was done off the mountain at much lower elevation.....except when we raced up the mountain and Braden hit the deer that made him famous.

Yeah, its like 3-4000 feet mostly- I shouldnt think jetting is going to make a huge difference for us mere mortals.

It's the other way around. Braden made that deer famous.

Lodging

I'm working on lodging over the weekend. I'll probably get a 4 BR place and only use 2 so there will be 2 BR and a couch available.

Shoot me a PM if you'd like details when I get it finalized.

Question

If you raced last year you may have seen this e-mail from John.

"All East Coast Riders,

We've only had about seven [moto] entries for this years Rally West Virginia and I wanted to reach out see if there is any reason(s) more riders haven't entered. Let me know if there is anything we can do to help. Call me at the number below if you want to talk.

Early entry is over June 20th.

John Shirley
Chairman
Rally West Virginia
865-805-0831"

Last year there were 13 competitors. Anybody else care to speculate? Is it price? Schedule? Normal procrastination?

I had no trouble with stock jetting. You might adjust the fuel screw a 1/4 turn if you really think it needs it to start/idle just where you want it.

Unfortunately for me it was a $$$ thing. We're about to move and finances are super tight. I was on the fence about entering anyhow as I wouldn't be competitive, but I am in that area of WV at least a few times a month during warm months, and literally every weekend during ski season, so it's like a second home to me and I just wanted to ride. I think this whole rally scene is awesome because of the grassroots feel, but I know ALOT goes into planning/executing these events, so with the $400-500 price tag (depending on when one enters), I still feel it's a VERY fair price. I just couldn't squeeze it into the budget this year.

Will definitely be there to watch/support/crew/etc!

I was looking at doing RWV this year but the timing isn't easy for me. The kicker though is the entry fee, if it were "more reasonable" I would make the time.

According to the entry list there are 7 or 8 bikes signed up but about 40 cars listed last I checked.
