Not sure how they can make this out of metal with actual moving parts for only $10 more but wow, this could solve the most challenging problem I have with the plastic G-C - deploying it requires more effort in my right hand than I can muster given my aging joints. Adjusting the friction may help here.

The other issue I have is that minor speed adjustments are not as easy as with a typical friction device where once the friction is set adjustments only require a twist up or down. I don't think the new AL version will fix this.

Still, given the huge price gap between typical friction locks and GC it has great value. Now if the good old vista-cruise would fit more bikes it would blow away all of them.

Got one.

I just bought one. Looks simple enough and a fair price. Thanks

When you turn the tension gear, the clamp will open or Close both sides simultaneously,

I believe your explanation is

1. mount and set tension
2. operate GC identical to plastic version

Does that sound correct? I hope its as good as first version I'm using.

just found and ordered this... really liked the composite version design (simple), but mine eventually broke.

Hopefully it lasts longer than your plastic model. I bought one of those and it broke in less than two weeks...

mine arrived, really nice and lightweight. best part is the adjustment wheel makes a reassuring clicking sound while it rubs on the spring.

should be my favorite removable cruise to date
