Is Thursday June 13 being called off as well? Weather reports are looking rather hairy for the afternoon and into Friday. I'm trying to decide if it would be stupid fun to ride the old XL500 through it in the woods, or just stupid.

Next 36 hours are supposed to be insane weather. Tornado watch and massive thunderstorms.

I rode from the top to the bottom of Michaux today, with a stop at Fuller Lake for a dip. I rode Ridge Road and Wirt Road from PA34 to PA997, a side trip to Fayetteville, then back down PA997 and east on White Rock to get back into Michaux, then south on Staley and Wirt Roads, then cut east to get over to Rattlesnake Run Road, then north on High Rock, Teaberry and Newman Roads to US30, then west to get over to Piney Mountain Ridge Road up to Pine Grove Furnace SP to cool off. Then Cold Springs Road (the one up there) to Ridge Road to PA34.

I only saw three motorcycles in the forest, but saw a lot of deer - too close for comfort!

I did about 30 miles in MSF after supper tonight. Saw three deer.

At least the loose gravel is getting packed down most places.

Yeah, I had that a couple of weekends ago on my RT. I started up Old Railroad Road, and it was two lanes paved, then gravel on top of the pavement, and in the middle of a right hander it went to one lane and then was only gravel. Still wonderful views and I only passed one family on bicycles who looked at me funny.

To prove it is my RT:

I spent about 4 hours riding through Michaux on Sunday with forum member BradyD and my Dad.

Here are some crappy cell phone pics, I'll post up some better ones once I put them on my computer.

(BradyD and I have pretty much the exact same bike... 1979 xt500... even has the same stock paint job)

This is the 'scenic overlook' on Stillhouse Hollow Road. The view was awesome, the cell phone photos don't do it justice.

The weather was great, sunny and a breezy 85 degrees all day. Except for 15 minutes when it rained like a monsoon.
