Maybe.

Gotta be in Sydney sometime next week, but might be able to work around what you decide.

Be fun out there if it's wet, good riding though, haven't been out that way for a couple of years

That's where you cross the creek in the 'Gap' outa Murringo onto Fisher's Lane & head up towards Bendick Murrell??

Found a way up through the back of Bendick Murrell State Forest & out to Greenthorpe, few gates to go through,

Out through Greenthorpe & ended up camping @ one of the Weddin Mountains campsites, on the eastern [Grenfell] side

well Macca & I camped there, no water [tank was busted], good shitters, had a fireplace & heaps of f*#*#*g mice

Cheers

Pirelli MT43 Trials Tyre

Well the MT43 came off the 690 today, after about 3,000km of mixed terrain at 10-11psi ...

You can see from the pic below that it's pretty much shagged, but some life left ...

I'm (again) vey surprised by this tyre - not an obvious choice for a 690 - it gives a very nice feel on gravel, and great traction on rock etc - haven't tried it in deep mud ...

If anyone wants to take the old tyre (18" rear) to try out the feel of it, let me know - it would be fine for another few hundred kms - I'll keep it here for a week or so before turfing ...

Couple a thousand kms more like!, chuck it my way & I'll tell ya how it goes on an XS650!
Surprised it's not worn more on the outer edges?, being run at such a low pressure usually results in that
Cheers

Tow behind trailer - I've gone there!

I've been considering rigging the F8GS to tow a trailer for a while and, after buying a 2nd hand Ali-Lite Deluxe Tourer trailer last week, am in the process of doing just that.
I understand that opinions can be divided about towing trailers, but would like to hear from those who do any hints, tips that I need to be aware of/plan for etc.
If you don't like the idea of trailers then I'm happy for you to keep your personal opinions just that...personal.

Fozzy, all I can say is go for it, apart from the obvious 'fubar' of taking it into the 'TTT', that year '11?,

which was case of oversized trailer & underpowered bike, plus a pillion, combined with 'heartbreak' hill going into Thrasher's place

did the 'Sidecar' rally '11, without any major dramas, delivered the 'Pudding' there that year from 'Dargo'
Clutch problems also knocked a few other attempts @ rallying with it, but will be back on track for the 'Far Cairn' this year I hope!
Like I said Fozzy, go for it - an Ali-Lite behind the F800GS should be no problems, as long as the towhitch set up properly, never towed an Ali-Lite but I reckon even my XS's could do that with ease
Give me a yell if you want a hand or come over to Yass for a ride, and we'll have a coffee & a yarn about it
Cheers
