OK so after listening to all your advice I decided to try Remote Equipment Repairs and they will put a new YKK water proof zip in for the sum of $138 plus $17.30 for return postage.
This sounds a lot but I bloody love this jacket and other than the zip it is in great condition so feel the outlay worth while.
I shall keep you posted on the result.
