My '93 TDM

Just discovered this thread recently and been working my way through it. Lots of info and nice bikes. Here's a pic of mine. Finally found a stock TDM about 5 years ago that was totaled because it was in a basement that flooded due to a broken water pipe. Had less than 2000 miles on it, but the tank and almost all the bodywork was damaged by the time it reached the salvage company. Wanted one back in '92-93 but couldn't afford one. A little elbow grease and a titled '92 ebay frame and I was in business.

Hey guys.
I have a TDM for sale here in Ireland.
Bike is coming back from France Sunday and if any of you guys want to put your name on it, let me know.
The bike was bought by a Montana man a few months ago, He was based in Paris for 2 months and is now returning back to the states.
It's a cheap way to ride around Europe and insurance is not a problem.
If you copy the text below, and paste it into a google search it will bring up the ad on www.donedeal.ie.

Make / Model Year
Yamaha TDM 1993
Engine Size Mileage
900 35,913 Kilometres
Reliable, fun little 1993 TDM 850. New tires, chain, sprockets, battery, fork seals and charge regulator as of 32200km (3700km/2300miles ago).

Reason for sale: I'm going back to the USA. Bike isn't. Bike will be available June 10.

Regarding Rentec Crash Bars for the early TDM's

Renntec just finished bending up ten sets of crashbars for us riders over on Carpe TDM Forum. There are a couple sets left over from the group buy. If you ever wanted crashbars nows a good time. Renntec has two sets left. PM me or try getting ahold of Hannah at info@renntec.co.uk.

Hi guys.

I'm in the market for a used TDM 900 and i was wondering if there's something i should pay special attention to. I found a nice one with the color i like that fits my budget, it's from 2007 but it has 41000km on it and i'm not sure if that's a lot.
What should i look out for with a bike of that age and mileage? Is it even a smart thing to do, or should i look for something with less km?

Each unto their own, enjoy what you've got for the rewarding pleasure it gives.

I am very glad to see that. My plans were dashed by unforeseen & bank breaking costs in my new (very old) house. Had to install a complete fireplace & wood burner when the summer ended. We had mushrooms growing in cupboards.. Been feeling a bit stink that I may have been the buyer to tip the balance one way or another.
Great job!!

Who is this Rentec gang? And why would they ride into the Carpe forum and start bending up crashbars...?
