The Madstad screen is great quiet no buffetting leave your helmet open no problem. Looks not as good as the Carbon or stock I admitt but it really works.

got my new CF Leo Vince pipes from ADV Motorrad (thanks jason for the smokin deal) and am in the process of getting them mounted. removed the stock system and weigh the 2 for comparison. lost 10 lbs over the stockers plus gained a huge amount of flow. cant wait to finish the instal tomorrow (to frickin hot in the garage to work anymore today, 106 outside)

stockers @ 24 lbs...

CF Leo's @ just over 13 lbs

had to remove the sub-frame to remove the old mid-pipes. was actually easier than i was expecting. good to know how to do it just in case.

also changed the air filter and while i was in there removed the stupid lock cable for the glove box. what a pain in the arse that stupid thing is. still cant imagine what ktm was thinking when they designed the thing. don't care if i have a lock, if someone wants to steal my insurance card and ear plugs i guess they are more than welcome. this will make removing and fitting the glove box soooo much easier from now on.

tomorrow morning is gonna be fun!

laters,

laramie

I lucked out and found a rider who wanted to trade his old-style non-locking box for my 2011 locking one. Eight ways from Sunday better and easier to work with.
I have all my nerdmeister electronics in mine so anybody who gets into it is just going to get weirded out.

No that's not a carbon fiber lid. The guy put sticky fake CF on it and I was too lazy to take it off.

Bought a set of Superduke 17" wheels from fleabay.

Found a pair of Pirelli Diablo Supercorsas locally for a good price from a track racer and got them mounted up on the SD rims. (yeah, the angle of the pic make it look like a huge rear and a mini front...)

this rubber is super sticky (no wonder it was the choice for track days) and i'm eager to try them out once i sort out the front rotor adapter and get the SD rear rotor i ordered from KTM.

Battery Games - 3rd Time's a Charm

Ran a Shorai for over a year but got tired of having to drop the skid plate to charge it.
Tried to fit a 16 cell Anti-Gravity but didn't like what I had to do to make it work so I went back to the Shorai and made a waterproof charger connection so I could leave the charger pigtail in place.
http://advrider.com/forums/showpost....postcount=7888

Was visiting Craig at CJ Designs and picked up a EarthX battery. Third time's a charm. Installation was really sweet IMHO. I did make some minor changes to a slap-it-in installation.

Moved the polarity sticker from the top to the front so it is very apparent to anyone opening the battery case.

Put shrink tube on the battery post extensions and put E6000 on the post screws to protect them and help keep them secure. The E6000 is difficult to see since it is clear and self leveling.
Also packed the open space under the extensions near the battery posts with SUGRU air curing silicone putty. Not necessary but I had some so I used it.

Installed it.

All is right with the world.
