Gaspe Peninsula 132

A big segment of my upcoming Canada trip is riding 132 starting from around Nouvelle (we are riding from Mirimichi) and going around the Gaspe Peninsula and down to Quebec City

Can anyone comment on what's reasonable in terms of average mph? We are not in a hurry but just curious how twisty 132 is

Rte: 132 is reasonable twisty from the Town of Gaspe..>..L'Anse Pleureuse. The speed limits are around 50 km/h and 80 km/h in open stretches of #132. Do be vigilant when going through Towns. It's the high of summer season and expect vehicular traffic: busses; RV's and endless cars. Take your time as there is so much to see....take a break in Perce and see the Rock...maybe walk there atlow tide.

Be safe..cheers...

Good stops

Can anyone suggest a good coffee shop or a resturant on 132

Great view and excellent Lobsters, etc.

If you like smoked sea food check out Fumoirs Raoul Roux in Matane located near the ferry terminal. Awesome, the best I've ever had. It's a take out place so you'll need to find a decent loaf of baguette and the appropriate wine.

Are you saying that it's the "high of summer" now? I'm hoping to do a trip to eastern Quebec or the Atlantic Provinces this summer but I do not like riding in traffic. Is there a good time to go in the summer or do I wait for September?

Just ran this loop over the past weekend. Speed limits range from 50km/h to 90km/h for most of Rte132. Generally, traffic was pretty light, and passing was easy when desired. We ran in around the 90-110km/h range for lots of it. Great scenery, good corners, and decent pavement, save for some minor road work here and there, and the pavement through Forillon Nat'l Park is the shits (but still a worthwhile ride along the coast).

We stayed at Au Pic De L'Aurore ( http://www.percechalet.com/index_ang.htm) in Perce and had nothing but good to say about the place.
