Age?

Well laddie buck, an really ol'fart here, 69+ and ever bike I ever owned was an adv bike. Guess thats because every ride I did was an adv.
I for one always had a hankering to see the other side of the mountain or what was around the curve, what folks in the next town had going on, or if the girls in the next state over were as pretty as the ones I left in the last state I was in.

Started this when I was 14 and a few years after I began to wander my pappy says to me one day "Call home every so often, your mom worries", Dad understood, staying in one place wasn't in his blood either, even today I take every opportunity to be "on the road" THE ADVENTURE NEVER ENDS it always there calling you to come see what's up ahead .

So I don't think age has anything to do with it I think its attitude

And the fact that only 10% of the world is tarmac, the rest is an adventure.

26, just bought my '13 Cordoba Blue GS the day after Memorial Day. 1800 miles on it, already!

My Strom 1K was my first big bike purchase when I was 22. At that point, I knew that regardless of how many bikes may or may not be in my garage, at least one will always be an adventure bike.

Love the GS. Not quite as stompingly powerful as the Strom, but a way better overall package.

Girls here love bikes and doesn't really care what you ride, that's why the Z750 is in the hitlist since 5 years. But hey it doesn't coun't since it's France

28.

Started on a Harley 1200 Sportster at 18.
Honda XR650L dualsport at 25
KTM 690 Enduro at 26
BMW F800gs at 27

I can't think of a more logical bike to ride then a f800gs. The new KTM 1190 Adventure gets me excited but it also costs a crap load more and burns through fuel twice as fast.

Let's see, today is the 16th so I need 11 more days to become 73. Bought a '13 GS about a month ago and am enjoying it greatly (1800+ miles so far). Life is Good!

47. Rode my first motorbike when I was 16. Starting regularly riding friends bikes when I was in college. Purchased my first bike of my own (a used 1985 K100RS) when I was 23. I've always either had a BMW in the garage or had my eye on one since then.

Over the years I've had a list of bikes including a number of years when I didn't own a street bike because all my extra cash was in road racing equipment. The list includes Honda VFR750, Ducati 900SP, Honda RS125, Honda XR100 mini-motard, Aprilia RS250, BMW R1100GS, Wood-Rotax SJ676, Harley-Davidson Road King, and BMW R1150RT.

For me the F800GS is a near perfect compromise. It's not really excellent at anything but great at almost everything... or at least adequate.

30 Now... Guess I was 25 when I started riding.

I notice there are always the older guys hanging out at the BMW dealer when I go there... but I usually just keep to myself and ride. I guess I would rather ride alone or with 1 other person max on the road. I get uncomfortable when we ride with more than 3 bikes at the off road parks. Maybe it gets easier to sit back and chat/relax/ride together when you get older and you don't see the young riders in those settings as much.

40 in August. Bought my 10' f800gs in September after not riding for 20 years. Back then it was a Fzr 400, one of the best handling bikes, wouldn't mind having another.
