The event is approaching rather more rapidly than I'd like. Taking the DRZ out on the RedNEK Rendezvous this past weekend, I realized I had a bunch of work to do. MY DRZ had been converted to a street-legal machine by way of crimped-on butt-splices, oddly colored wiring, and a rat's nest of crap that failed every time I took it out in the wet. This wasn't going to serve on The Rock. I bought a Tusk wiring harness, and got on bike with a soldering iron, yards of heat-shrink, a tube of dialectric grease, a raft of posi-lock connectors, and a longish prayer.

I cut a mass of wiring, crimp connectors and tape and general malaise from the front of the machine the size of your average house cat.

If there were mechanical splices, they got greased. If I soldered connections, they got greased and heat-shrinked also. NO fail allowed.

I'm pleased to say that the final result looks very tidy. Electrical work takes a little contemplation.

C-Stain, if there's any way we can help you to get your hopes back up, or if we can support you, please ask. We don't know one another except on this forum, but I suspect you are a good guy. I've rarely met a Maratimer I didn't like. Injuries hurt, and they are all the sadder alone. I was looking forward to riding with you, and this trip will be poorer without you.

Well, if you guys want to make a detour on your way to, or from the Rock - you are more than welcome to pitch tents in the yard, use the garage, drink my beer and swim in the pool. I'll even fire the smoker up and put on a huge pork shoulder. We can sit on the deck, tell stories and lies and get shitfaced.

I believe that EmmDeeBee and Dresda are leaving their car and trailer here, so there may be a way to make it work if they're headed to the Rock with you guys.

I DID happen to find a nice little CRF230L for sale at my BMW dealer - I may even have new wheels here in the next couple of weeks!

We're planning a tour of the Bay of Fundy area. Family commitments make it difficult to manage a trip to the Rock this year, we're going to be lucky if we get away at all but our plan is Nova Scotia this summer!

My electrical system, I am pleased to say, is now Newfoundland Ready. Second day on a two-hour project.

Does it take that long to move it ahead 90 minutes to Newfoundland time?
