Off road / Trail boots

I'm after some off road / trail boots that are not too focused, that are protective and that, if the mood takes me, I can walk around in for a few hours if I happen to pass somewhere interesting while I'm travelling. This probably isn't too difficult, but the problem I'm having is that they need to be made from anything other than leather. Being Vegan, I don't want leather boots!

I can't be the only Vegan motorbiker; any suggestions?

A lot of Sidi boots are made of Lorica, a man made leather that wears very well.

After reading your post I think I accidentally struck a balance.

The steer that gave up his life for my high quality leather Combat Touring Boots was a strict plant-eater.

I, on the other hand, love a good steak.

If you could accept an imperfect balance such as I describe, the CTBs are perfectly the boot you describe -- except for the leather.

The think that has moved me away from SIDI boots is the thing that should move you toward them.
Lorica. Sidi uses the heck out of. It's decent but it doesn't age or last like leather does.

Dianese I think makes some but they are not widely distributed here in the stats.

Puma made I think an all plastic road race boot a few years back.

Now for the CS&M bit but it's something to think about.
Since your vegan I'm guessing you might have left leaning views on things, I could be wrong I know a couple of vegan who lean far to the right of glen beck.
Anyway....

A some very common actionsport textiles are made by a company owned by the Koch brothers.
The company is Invista or invicta and they make, Cordura, Lycra, Cool max.
Pretty main staples of the Subaru driving vegan set.

Thanks for these. I'd looked at the Sidi Adventure rain as well, but they're leather as well as Lorica. I'd also looked at the crossfire 2 boots, but there's a leather heat shield on the inside. Hmmmm. The search continues.

i can appreciate your stance but its not very realistic and whats the alternative?
leather is largely a by product of the dairy and beef industry these days so your not contributing to animal death any more or less than you already are in your everyday life weather you'll admit it or not.
leather is a fantastic renewable product thats hard to beat. overconsumption is our bigger problem.
get some quality leather boots, they they are healthier for you and the planet and you can sleep at night knowing you helping to reduce the plastics that kill way more animals than leather does.

Gaerne has Balance trials (mellow adv/trail) boots in a vegan option. I haven't seen them in person. These are the 3rd and newest version of the Balance boots.

Sorry, I should say that the outer is microfiber, no clue about glues or liners or any of the others stuff (like I said, I haven't seen 'em). I've heard these boots are better than most for walking around in.

Been eating vegan for 20 years but I do wear the leather for safety/durability reasons... and I ride in full-on MX boots that don't work for hiking.
