Question Decorating panniers

Hi all,

Not sure if there is a thread about this, so in case please redirect me.
I have recently purchased the full set of Jesse Safari Luggage in silver. They are awesome but I would like to make them more "interesting looking". I am not talking about the usual small decals everywhere but something more original over all of them. Do you have any idea or things to show that you have tested or thought about?
Please advise and include pictures if possible.
Thank you!

Zebra stripes on Safari panniers may be original...Can't say I've ever seen a set like that. Since they're aluminum some sort of zinc chromate primer would be required for the paint to stick. Instead of an iron Horse you could have an iron Zebra. I like mine shiny but each to their own.

Cool!

A sign shop could do vinyl 'zebra" graphics cheap and easy for you.

One option might be vinyl adhesive.
If you find a pattern to your taste you can bring that to a graphic centre that can print it on the vinyl fabric. Cars are decorated that way. Vinyl can be removed / replaced. Lots of possibilities there.

Either way you gotta have to post a picture afterwards.

Just do bullet hole stickers. The people at Starbucks won't be able to tell the difference from the cafe.

You could do a helmet to match your pannier!

Gather:

1.Water soluble acrylic paints (various colors)

2. Paintbrushes (various sizes)

3. Children (various ages, borrowed if necessary)

Have them paint the cases however they wish (I would suggest a theme so you don't end up with a hot mess)

Spray with clear coat.

Unique cases

You might make this an ongoing project by having people paint your cases when you stop for the day.

This is entirely full of win.

I may have to rethink my prohibition against hard bags.

paint em with chalkboard paint, and make little sidewalk chalk holsters so kids/people can draw on em.

i had a scooter in high school, was covered in stickers EVERYWHERE...... it had a milk crate on the back, and just about every time i came out to it after being parked at the beach/swapmeet/school etc, there was a sticker or 100 in the milk crate, sometimes new ones stuck to the bike, or a shirt and a sticker pack..... good fun.

I am remembering seeing some bikes (one Ducati Monster) painted white and all grafixed up with a black Sharpie . . .
