HELP- Need advise on buying KTM 450 MXC

Hello inmates,

Can I get some feedback on the 2005 KTM MXC? I have one that I'm looking at with low hours, clean, and fully setup for dirt/ street. Is there anything problems with these bikes that one should be aware of? Looking for 70/30 dirt to road; recently sold a XR 650 L, but I am aware that this is an apple/orange comparison. Let me know

Thanks!

Wrong room Abindl, this room is pretty much all V2 so you will have way more luck in the thumpers room.

Mods willl boot you to Thumpers.

You will love the 450, The MXC is geared a bit tall for the trails, but you can kind of compensate for that with a gearing change, but it will never be like an XC or exc.(Very Tall 1st gear on the MXC)Trannies are different. 06 was the best year of the RFS bikes. No real issues with the 05 or any RFS for that matter.

If you ride a lot of tight trails I would hold out for an exc/xc model. I had an mxc that I ended up putting the exc first and second gear into.

Choices, choices

I want to stick with the road legal type of dirt bike. Which way should I go if I don't go with the MXC? Should I keep looking at KTM's or is a Honda/ Yamaha a better choice?

$$$

Also, what should I expect to pay for an 05' MXC with low miles?
