Poll -Who in the US is buying an 1190?

While the rest of the world is enjoying the new 1190 we in the US are forced to sit at our computers and salivate.

So where are we in our purchasing process?

Is there anything official on a delivery date? My local dealer says he's not heard a word, KTMWorld says it will be next spring.

What I do know is there is about 100 coming this summer to the dealers attending a meeting and demo ride in Austria. They have to keep them on the floor as demos for 90 to 120 days then they can sell them. I have already got my name on the one coming to Northern Nevada

No interest. Now, if the company made a Dakar replica with something in the range of V-2, 650-800cc bike with minimal electronics crap on it, I would seriously consider trading in my trusty rusty 950.

I would be very interested but I need to see/ride the bike first to determine if its worthy of replacing the 950 Adventure.

I contacted KTM US and the guy I spoke to had not a clue on dates or pricing. From what info I've read it seems the 1190s for the fall and the R next spring. I don't understand what the deal is with getting stuff in the states. Everywhere else seems to get both at the same time and we have to wait for one and longer for the other.

I don't need a 150 hp road bike with 19" / 18" tires.
What I need is a KTM version of a XR650R with a small v-twin, better suspension, lots of fuel capacity, and NO complicated electronics.

No fuel injection, no ABS, no traction control, no ignition lock, no satellite radio...
Heck give me a kick starter and I'll be happy.

When BMW got all "complicated" that's when they lost me as a customer.
It's too bad KTM is going down the same road.

I think most motorcycle companies are going in the wrong direction.

Give me a simple, reliable bike that I can take to remote places.
Thanks.

I hear you, the very reason I bought the 990 Baja. Unfortunately, this is called progress and it will not stop for a small % of us that prefer simple and uncomplicated. They (KTM and others) cannot be seen as trailing in technology. Technology sells and will continue to develop.

It may have something to do with our US EPA regulation certification process . . . They are very busy over regulating the small engines on lawn mowers and generators etc . . . Now they are focusing on fuel line permeation issues . . . Had no idea fuel lines contributed so much to polution

Let's hope this is true:

Does anyone have any ideas about pricing? I don't have a dealer close enough to go talk to.

That is a lot of side stand relocation brackets,, I had no idea they would make that many.

I say we do a group purchase!
